China: Man Climbs 30-Meter Tree to Rescue Stranded Cat

This video shows the heartwarming moment a Chinese man risked his own safety to rescue a helpless cat stranded high above the ground for more than a week. Filmed on December 11, 2025, in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, the footage captures retired veteran Zhang Yuhua climbing a nearly 30-meter-tall metasequoia tree to save a small cat trapped at the top. Using only his bare hands and no professional climbing equipment, Zhang carefully made his way up the towering tree. According to the video, the cat had been stuck there for nine days and was growing visibly weaker. Zhang later said the cat was taken to a temporary foster shelter for care and observation.

Low Water Level in Belesar Reservoir - Spain

A person observes the low water level in the Belesar reservoir, November 7, 2025, in Belesar, Lugo, Galicia, Spain. The lack of rainfall has caused a drop in the water level in the Belesar reservoir, which this week is at 25% of its capacity, making it possible to see flooded villages in the area around Portomarín and places like Castro Candaz in Taboada. In other reservoirs in the province, such as Salime, in Negueira de Muñiz, the remains of villages such as Barcela, where the church already has its bell tower out of the dammed waters, are beginning to be visible.
